CREATING QUINCY SQUARE's BRANDING

I was fortunate enough to be tasked with creating the brand for Quincy Square in Bremerton, WA from scratch. It was a beautiful process of discovering the feelings, culture, and community vibe of the space and understanding how to highlight the black community and Quincy Jone's legacy while making the brand as inviting to all communities for this new, dedicated space for community gathering, art, culture, and expression. This space deserved to be represented in an authentic, people-first narrative. And that's what I ran with!

Who I Am: from June 2025 through July 2026 I worked as the Communications Coordinator (Social Media. Marketing, and Communications) for the Downtown Bremerton Association. The DBA, through a contract with the City of Bremerton, manages Quincy Square (website, social profiles, digital marketing, event production, community event rentals, etc.). In July 2025, Quincy Square had it's Grand Opening! But it did not have a cohesive Brand Identity, that's where I came in!

I gained inspiration through what was already in the space, created by the community the brand should be honoring and reflecting first and foremost - the Washington Street Garage Mural! It is colorful, bright, expressive, and culturally significant. I drew the color palette from this. As well as the mood for the brand. Everything else fell in to place from there.

Establishing the color palette was the foundation needed to then develop the voice, tone, and mood for the brand. From there, everything else fell in to place for this brand to be fun, relevant, authentic, and inviting.

Once implementing this Branding across Quincy Square's Digital Profiles (Instagram, Facebook, Website), our engagement and authority grew!

Quincy Square's Branding Identity and Guidelines were created by Emily Ferrer. 2026.
