On May 23, 2025, the ribbon was cut and the ice cream was served! Finally, the Historic Washington Street Boat Landing has occupancy. Through a lengthy Request For Proposal (RFP) process, the decision was made by the City of Seattle, Alliance for Pioneer Square, and Friends of Waterfront Park to accept Molly Moon's bid and we can't be more excited!

ABOUT THE LOCATION🐚

The Historic Washington Street Boat Landing is located at the west-end of Washington Street in Seattle and right next to the new man-made beach, Pioneer Square Habitat Beach. This location is, in my opinion, the perfect spot for a walk-up ice cream shop. Imagine: It's a Seattle summer day, you're at a pocket beach, listening to the waves, buzzing of bees, and bird chirps, with a freshly made waffle cone and locally-sourced ice cream to fill, all while being within the city. Perfection? And if it gets too hot and you need some shade, the adorable steel and iron pergola will offer a covered 'porch' with cafe tables and chairs!

The original building was opened for use on July 3, 1920 and then in the 1970s it was refurbished and added to the Pioneer Square Historic District. Recently, with the demolishing of the Viaduct and the reimaging of the central waterfront into Waterfront Park, the pergola has been empty. But now, Molly Moon's fills this space with color and happiness!

WATERFRONT PARK x MOLLY MOON'S

Friends of Waterfront Park, the non-profit organization who manages, event organizes, and fundraises for the new Waterfront Park, has already partnered with Molly Moon's for a couple of milestone occasions in 2024. From Pioneer Square Habitat Beach's Ribbon Cutting to Pier Party on Pier 62, Molly Moon's has established a community at Waterfront Park and will now have a permanent space to serve their locally-made ice cream!

ABOUT MOLLY MOON'S 🍦

Molly Moon's is a well established ice cream shop with eight locations already in Seattle (and a shop in Redford).

"Our mission is to make the world better, one scoop at a time as a multigenerational gathering place with sustainability and happiness at the core of all we do. The world is a big place, made smaller, we believe, by the act of sharing a sweet treat with someone you love. Our team works hard to create deliciousness by partnering with local farmers and producers — from jam-makers and beekeepers to strawberry farmers and coffee roasters — to turn the best, freshest, most creative local flavors into truly outstanding ice cream."
